California Capital City Step Team
The California Capital City Step Team was officially formed in September of
2003. The team's primary focus is to act as a public relations instrument for
the Sacramento Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. including community outreach especially with African American youth.
Since its inception the team has performed with as many as 25 sorors in Las Vegas, Arizona, Northern and Southern California and
for television. The money raised by the team proudly goes to serve the interests of our sorority and has supported not only our local
chapter, but scholarships and our undergraduate sorors as well.
The goal of the team is to continue our success on and off stage as we strive to meet the goals set forth by our sorority's Five-Point Program Thrust and continue
"stepping in our Founders' shoes."
In 2005, our Step Team captured 1st place and was awarded $1000 in the Northern California StompFest.
As part of their winning campaign, our team also received National acclaim by placing 2nd place during the sorority's 47th National Convention Step Show in Las Vegas. They blazed a trail to the 2006-2008 National Championship by capturing 1st at the 48th National Convention Step Show in Philadelphia.
