2012 Scholarships

High School Senior Scholarship
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a public-service organization of college educated African American women, provides yearly monetary awards to high school seniors who plan to enroll in a college or university. To apply, applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Award selections will be based on scholastic achievement, a determined financial need, and participation in school and/or community activities.

Head of Household Scholarship
In support of our chapter focus of “Women Helping Women” and our goal of fostering education, the Sacramento Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., salutes the academic achievements of a Junior College and university reentry , Single Head of Household student, by awarding an annual scholarship. This monetary award is presented to a student currently pursuing coursework leading towards a college degree. Our award selection is based on scholastic achievement and financial need.

Lucille Copeland Scholarship


Dejeane Hayesbert-McChristian


This scholarship was the first Delta 4-year scholarship given in the name of one of our living sorors. Soror Copeland was one of the original Black Educators in the city of Sacramento. She was also one of the charter members of the illustrious Sacramento Alumnae chapter and was instrumental in laying the foundation for this chapter. This scholarship is offered every 4 years.
